In sales in the food 3PL logistics sector

The Client is an established and well respected 3PL in the food and fmcg sectors. With a strong balance sheet and a ‘customer first’ attitude, the business has shown steady yet sustained growth in the food markets with an enviable portfolio of local, national and international blue chip customers. However, continuing growth and diversification are key to their continuing development and further opportunities have been identified in aspects of the chill and frozen sectors.

Working closely with the Sales Director and with operational and functional colleagues, this vital role will spearhead growth, new customer development and management of Key Accounts to sell further value added services. You will have a specific remit to target food manufacturers, retailers, food services, wholesalers and private customers ensuring that volume is both maintained and developed. This is a total sales role, from initial enquiry to full implementation and as such, you will have a blend of development and commercial skills.

Ideally of graduate calibre and with personal credibility and integrity, you will posses a demonstrable record of sales achievement in the food logistics sector. You will be extensively networked and be a ‘known’ figure in the sector. Excellent pioneering and closing skills are essential as is your ability to sell at all levels. Earlier operational experience will be especially useful, but above all you must be able to make a difference on your own abilities, with commensurate rewards and career prospects.
