The Company is a substantial multi-million, third party provider of transport, warehousing and dedicated solutions to a wide range of retail and manufacturing customers in the chilled and ambient sectors.
With a strong and committed senior management team in place, and with pragmatic growth plans, the Company has based its reputation on a perceptive blend of quality, innovation, customer service and high levels of efficiency across both network and dedicated sites.

Due to its location this site plays a pivitol role in servicing a number of stores in the Southern region and with over 300k2 of warehousing, the site is seen by the customer as the flagship facility.

Reporting to a Regional Director and with strong daily links with the customer and operational colleagues, the role has full unencumbered responsibility for both the maintenance of existing standards and the ongoing development of the site, to maintain its existing position as ‘best in class’ with the customer.
The appointee will be responsible for both the day to day and strategic direction of the facility, ensuring that all KPIs are consistently achieved against demanding service levels. Encompassed within contract initiatives will be inspirational leadership, team building and well honed ER/IR skills. He/she will be the champion of all continuous improvement, including further supply chain and added value solutions, safety, quality and dedicated customer relationships. He/she will participate in the strategic direction of the business.

The Accountabilities:

- In consultation with the Regional Director and the Customer, analyse, evaluate and deliver an operational strategy for site development.
- Analyse and agree site operating budgets, given the open book nature of the contract, ensuring that all quicks/flashes are communicated to time and to acceptable standards.
- Lead and communicate all site planning and standard operating procedures, to all employees, being mindful of the need for clear analysis of all challenges.
- Provide strong and inspirational leadership to his/her teams, providing training and performance review tools, to ensure site and broader Company succession opportunities.
- Champion all supply chain and physical logistics added value initiatives, through the application of continuous improvement methodology and the overall strategy.
- Provide guidance to all managers on the physical management of both the warehousing and transport operations and to the achievement of KPIs.
- Champion all SLA and KPI agreements, through consistent application of best practice, in line with the customer initiatives and such other projects as may be requested by the customer.
- Lead the processes of system upgrade, quality, safety and site communication policies.
- It is essential you provide a harmonious employee relations environment, by the strong yet consistent application of discipline, dignity and equity of opportunity to all colleagues.
- Reporting formally and informally to the customer and the Board on all aspects of the discharge of the job function.
